Come to The Scala takeover at the BFI on Thursday 18th January (6.15pm) at NFT3 for the Rock ’N’ Roll Cinema talk!
I will be on a panel with Barry Adamson (Magazine/Visage), actor and director Caroline Catz, musician Douglas Hart (Jesus and Mary Chain), musician Jah Wobble (PiL) and writer/journalist Cathi Unsworth. We’ll be talking about our obsession with film, music, rebellion and the vital relationship between sound and vision. With film clips!
John Waters' Pink Flamingos
Tasty Tim and I will also be introducing a showing of the John Water’s classic Pink Flamingos at the NFT. As I’m sure you know it stars the inimitable Divine and a host of Dreamland superstars.

This will be part of The Scala Cinema takeover of the BFI where a bunch of films in January will be curated by Jane Giles and Ali Caterall, the directors of the Scala!!! movie doc.
There’s even a Scala Horror all-nighter at the IMAX no less!!!
The Scala!!! film is out now in selected cinemas around the UK thanks to the The British Film Institute. It will also be available as a Blu-Ray with a ton of extras and will be streaming on BFI Player in a few weeks.
Directed by Jane Giles and Ali Catterall it has been getting rave reviews and will probably clean up at the Oscars.
